Showboat To “Definitely” Shut Down on Sunday as Revel Starts to Wind Down
Katie Daugherty, a spokeswoman for Caesars Entertainment, told The Associated Press the casino will close at 4:00 Sunday afternoon. This is the first time the company has unequivocally said it will shutter Showboat.
Meanwhile, just up the boardwalk at Revel, that casino says they are still talking with potential buyers but no one has stepped-up to the plate with a plan for keeping Atlantic City‘s newest casino open past Labor Day weekend.
Revel’s casino is set to close during the early morning hours of September 2nd, but things will begin winding-down before then. Revel says on August 31st, after some bars and restaurants close, some food, alcohol, and equipment will start being removed. If you have casino chips or vouchers you will be able to redeem them for two weeks after the casino closes.
