GALLOWAY — His damaged car gave him away, police say.

Township resident Todd Battaglia, 43, was charged this week in the hit-and-run that critically injured a 59-year-old cyclist on Friday.

Police said Battaglia's 2015 Nissan Altima was spotted Sunday at an auto body repair shop. Battaglia was arrested a short time later.

He was charged with aggravated assault and leaving the scene of an accident with serious injuries. He was being held at Atlantic County jail with a full-cash bail of $25,000.

Police said Battaglia hit Glen Bott on the westbound side of East Mill Road in Port Republic.

Bot on Wednesday remained at an Atlantic City hospital in critical condition.

It was not clear Wednesday whether Battaglia had an attorney.
