It's almost time to dig every last green item from your closet as we gear up for St. Patrick's Day parades around New Jersey.

You'll have the opportunity to celebrate early (and often!) in 2017 all around the great Garden State.

    Hoboken – Saturday, March 4th

So...technically the actual parade was discontinued in 2011, mostly because the St. Paddy's day crowd in Hoboken tends to be especially...festive. This is really more a Shamrock-themed bar crawl these days, and while it can definitely be a good time for partiers, parents beware!

    Belmar - Sunday, March 5th

One of my favorite St. Paddy's Day parades, stepping off from the north end of Main St. in Lake Como at 12:30 p.m. The rowdier crowds tend to stay close to the bars (especially 16th Ave. and 10th Ave.) but there are certainly more family-friendly spots to watch the fun.

Atlantic City - Saturday, March 11th

The AC St. Patrick's Day parade starts at 1 p.m. on the boardwalk in front of Revel, then continues south along the length of the boardwalk to Albany Ave. (near the Knife & Fork Inn.)

Seaside Heights - Saturday, March 11th

The annual Ocean County St. Patrick's Day parade in Seaside Heights is a Jersey Shore tradition not to be missed! It starts at noon on the Boulevard at J Street in Seaside Park, then heads north to Hancock Ave.

    Wildwood - Saturday, March 11th

The day's festivities start with a ceremony in front of North Wildwood City Hall at 11:30. The parade starts from there at noon, heading north up Atlantic Ave. towards Olde New Jersey Ave.

Asbury Park - Sunday, March 12th

This parade has picked up a lot of steam in the last few years, and is definitely worth checking out! It steps off at 1 p.m. at 5th and Ocean Ave., continuing south before turning up bustling Cookman Ave. (Plus, you can take advantage of Asbury's amazing bar and food scene while you're there!)

    Freehold - Sunday, March 12th

This parade is perfect for families, running along Main St. in downtown Freehold starting at noon. It's run by the Freehold Borough Arts Council, and always offers a lot of great stuff for kids to check out!

    Rumson - Sunday, March 12th

Now it's in 5th year, the Rumson parade runs up River Rd. starting across from Victory Park at Allen St. then heading out toward Carton St. It steps off at 1 p.m. and is expected to run until 2:30 p.m.

    Highlands - Saturday, March 18th

The 15th annual Highlands St. Paddy's Day parade kicks off at 2 p.m. at Huddy Park, continuing along Bay Avenue. This parade always features incredible floats and talented dancers, bagpipers, and marching bands. Awesome parade for kids!

    Keyport - Saturday, March 25th

Keyport keeps the Irish eyes smiling into the end of the month with their parade, starting at 1 p.m. It kicks off in front of St. Joseph's on Maple Place, crossing over Rt. 35 on Broadway/4th St., and continuing up Maple, then turning onto Broad Street, heading towards downtown Keyport, finally turning onto W. Front St., and ending at Firemen's Park.

    NYC - Friday, March 17th

We certainly can't ignore the massive St. Patrick's Day parade happening across the river. NYC's parade runs along the city's legendary 5th Avenue, starting at 11 a.m. and going until 5 p.m. You'll definitely want to rely on mass transit to get there, and if you actually want to see the parade action, pretend you're a commuter and head in early!

    Philly - Sunday, March 12th

Philly also hosts a St. Patrick's Day parade, running from Broad St. to Market St., then continuing across to Penn's Landing. It starts at 11:30 a.m., and again, mass transit is your best bet!
