New Date Set for Stockton Students Rally

Stockton students will gather on the boardwalk in Atlantic City for a rally to save Stockton's Island Campus."Save Our Stoboat" will now take place on Thursday April 2nd and again on Friday, April 3rd at 4 PM on the boardwalk near Virginia Ave in front of the Trump Taj Mahal. The rally has been rescheduled due to the upcoming holiday weekend.

Students will protest the decision to nix the the Stockton deal by the parent company of Atlantic City’s Taj Mahal. The Taj is standing by a 1988 agreement  that requires the Showboat property to be used as a first-class casino hotel.

Stockton planned to use the Showboat as a 14,000 square foot college satellite campus. Officials from Stockton are trying to reach an agreement with the Taj. They will sell the property if a deal can't be reached.
