Congratulations to Kaitlyn Schoeffel, 23, of Egg Harbor Township, who was crowned Miss New Jersey Saturday night on the Ocean City Music Pier. 

Schoeffel won the Miss New Jersey Education Foundation Pageant in her 6th attempt, having finished in the top ten finalists four of the five previous years.

The 23-year-old Montclair State University graduate won the swimsuit competition on her way to winning the pageant held in Ocean City. Her platform is “Operation Empowerment.”

The first runner up at the pageant in Ocean City was Olivia Michael of Bergenfield followed by second runner up  Amanda Rae Ross from Galloway, third runner up Jaime Gialloreto from Woolwich Township and fourth runner up was Natalie Ragazzo of Ocean City.
