Margate School Garden Wins State Award

A big congratulations to the staff and srtudents of the Eugene A. Tighe School in Margate. Their garden was  honored by the state Department of Agriculture with its first School Garden of the Year award.  The school received a banner to display and $1,000 to put toward garden activities. It's all to kick off New Jersey Farm to School Week.

The garden at the Eugene A. Tighe School was chosen from among 165  applicants.

Students were also able to sell produce at the Margate Community Farmers Market on weekends. Over  $1,400 was raised to buy food for the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.
