Margate Causeway Closed Today To Repair Storm Damage

The Margate Causeway, connecting Margate with Northfield, will be closed for several hours today, March 25th, to repair a utility pole damaged during Sunday's rain and wind storm.  Atlantic City Electric has announced it must replace a broken pole on the Margate/Northfield Boulevard.  The roadway will close for all traffic in both directions at 11a.m. Repairs are expected to to last until 3 p.m.  The timing for this closure... further complicates the already tricky travel situation between Downbeach and the mainland.  Construction and paving work on Ventnor Avenue in Ventnor are also causing traffic delays this week.  The Longport Bridge is being suggested as your best alternative today.
