Again this year, Lite Rock 96.9 WFPG is joining the Miss America Organization to collect non-perishable food for the Atlantic City Rescue Mission.

The Lite Rock/ Miss America Serves Atlantic City Rescue Mission Food Drive is asking South Jersey schools to begin the school year by collecting canned and packaged food to help feed the hungry.

The collection takes place September 2-9, 2015.

The school which collects the most food will win an appearance at their school by Miss America 2106.

In 2015, this food drive collection partnership between Lite Rock and the Miss America Organization was held exclusively in the Atlantic City Schools.

This year, The Lite Rock/Miss America Serves Food Drive is expanding to include all schools in South Jersey, much the same way the AC Rescue Mission serves people from all over South Jersey.

Miss America 2016 will make a special appearance at the Atlantic City school which collects the most food and, this year, a separate appearance at the school outside of Atlantic City with the biggest food collection.

Keep listening to the Lite Rock Morning Show with Eddie Davis for updates on The Lite Rock/Miss America Serves Food Drive collection contest!

Lite Rock's studios are at 950 Tilton Road in Northfield is the Drop-off location for food collected by schools outside of Atlantic City. Collected food may be dropped off between 8:30a-5p, Monday thru Friday between Sept 2-9th.
