Students from high schools around South Jersey  have a date in court this Saturday.   Some of  the students will be on trial and some will be witnesses; still others will be the attorneys!  This year's... Atlantic County Mock Trial Competition will be held Saturday from 9-4 p.m. at the Civil Courthouse in Atlantic City.

Presented by the Atlantic County Bar Association and the New Jersey State Bar Foundation, the Mock Trial Competition features students in all those rolls, getting a better understanding of the law, court procedures and the justice system.

Teams from Egg Harbor Township, Absegami, Holy Spirit,  Mainland Regional, Hammonton and St. Joseph High School are competing this year.  Atlantic County's winning team is eligible to compete in the regional competitions in February.

Over 85 local attorneys, Municipal Court Judges and Superior Court Judges will be the judges for the competitions.

You have to give these kids credit!  The idea of getting up in court in front of your own classmates and students from other schools must be intimidating enough,  let alone in front of practicing lawyers and judges!  Why not go out Saturday and see them in action?
