Here is some good news...I guess.  You have almost no chance of dying from Ebola. The bad news for all of us is that the chances of dying from other things are higher, some of them much higher..

What will kill you? If you live in the United States, it almost certainly won't be Ebola. Although a Liberian visitor died of the disease in Dallas and two of his caregivers were infected and survived, the odds favor death by almost every other alternative.

A 2014 National Safety Council report uses mortality data and U.S. population statistics from 2010 to synthesize the likelihood of dying by various methods. Most likely, something far less exotic will get you.

Note: All death odds were calculated using 2010 population data. The one Ebola death on American soil was also calculated with a 2010 population figure to facilitate comparison.
