Dog Parade, Talent & Beauty Contest Saturday in Somers Point

Attention all dog owners and dog lovers! The Somers Point-Community First non-profit organization has announced a dog talent and beauty contest this Saturday, Sept. 14, and you and your dog are invited to attend!

The "Beauty & the Leash Pageant" will be held on the lawn in front of Shore Medical Center in Somers Point beginning at 10am this Saturday and I will be hosting the event!

Beauty and the Leash will begin with a Show Us Your Paws Parade along Bay Avenue. The parade will be followed by a short ceremony honoring pet therapy dogs.

Then, it's time for the Beauty and the Leash contest.  Dogs will be entered in four categories:

- Owner Look-alike

- Talent

- Beauty: small dog

- Beauty: large dog

Winners will be awarded a trophy and celebratory biscuit.

Beacon Animal Rescue of Cape May/Atlantic counties will be on hand for the fun along with Lite Rock 96.9 WFPG.

Admission for Beauty and the Leash is free and all dogs are welcome to join this "paw-some" pageant hosted by Somers Point Community First. Prizes galore! Stop by with your favorite four-legged friends to get in on the fun!

Registration will take place on-site just prior to the event.
