Will You Play Santa Claus at Friday’s Toys for Tots-A-Thon?

The 12th annual Lite Rock Toys for Tots drive is this Friday from 7 a.m.  - 7 p.m. at the Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing.  We'll be stationed live at center court collecting new, unwrapped toys for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.  These toys will stay right here... in South Jersey and help the thousands of local families who can't afford gifts for Christmas this year.

I've been thinking lately about a conversation I had last year with one of the Marine Reserves.  He told me that in the last couple of years the need for toys had increased so greatly, they were forced to ration the toy giveaway more closely.  The Reservist said there was  a real possibility  the South Jersey Toys for Tots effort would come up short. That would mean some children would go without a toy.

Flash forward a year later and I  wonder how many kids will go without their own toy this Christmas?

That's why we're asking you to give what you can this Friday.  By the way, everyone who donates a toy is in the running for hourly prizes like  Hall & Oates concert tickets and a grand prize autographed guitar from Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
