Downtown Wildwood is kicking off the holiday season with Christmas in the Plaza this Friday, Dec. 6 and Sat., Dec. 7 at Byrne Plaza – 3400 Pacific Avenue, Wildwood.

This year’s Christmas in the Plaza will be a two-day event that includes free carnival rides, craft and food vendors, holiday activities, appearances by Santa Claus on Friday and Mrs. Claus on Saturday.

Christmas in the Plaza begins at 5 p.m. on Friday with the Greater Wildwood Jaycees Christmas Parade marching south on Pacific Avenue, circling back and ending at Byrne Plaza for the awards ceremony and the Byrne Plaza Christmas Tree Lighting.

Christmas in the Plaza resumes from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday, with a morning visit from Mrs. Claus to read Christmas stories to the children – bring a chair or blanket to sit on. At noon, The John Walter Cape Community Band will take the stage and entertain the crowd with live Christmas music until 4 p.m.
