Congratulations again to St. Augustine sophomore Jose Tabora for taking home last week's Athlete of the Week honors.

Meanwhile, we have a new batch of local student-athletes this week who have proven themselves worthy in their respective fields.

C.J. LaFragola, Football, St. Joe - The Wildcats standout did damage on both sides of the ball in St. Joe's 41-8 win over Atlantic City. LaFragola rushed for 211 yards and four touchdowns, while adding two interceptions on defense.

 

Lou Corgliano, Cross Country, Hammonton - He finished first overall at the Cape-Atlantic League Cross Country Championships with a time of 15 minutes, 40 seconds.

 

Katelyn Garthaus, Tennis, Egg Harbor Township - The junior claimed the CAL tennis singles title with a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the final match. It was her second straight appearance in the league championship match.

 

Devon Grisbaum, Cross Country, Ocean City - She finished first among CAL competitors at the league cross country championships. Grisbaum completed the course in 18 minutes, 39 seconds to help lead Ocean City to another CAL title.

 

Ryquell Armstead, Football, Millville - The junior running back took on a bigger role in the backfield against EHT with starter Rob Ennis sidelined. Armstead took advantage of the opportunity, rushing for 301 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries in a 42-13 victory.
