Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland has announced a Grand Jury indictment of Deshyamma R. Dalton, Michael Woods Jr., and Jeramy J. Thompson-Pierce on First Degree Attempted Murder, Robbery, and other charges.

Sutherland says the indictments are the result of an investigation into a home invastion in North Cape May on October 17th.

The Cape May County Herald reports on that date, according to Lower Township Police, a 48-year-old person had been repeatedly struck with a rifle over an extended period of time with enough force to break the wooden rifle stock. The victim was in critical condition when taken to the hospital; he was treated and released several days later.

As a result of their investigation, authorities determined that Jacob L. Servais, Woods, and Thompson-Pierce, aided by Dalton, entered the victim's residence, restrained him, and assaulted him.

The three were indicted on the following charges: Attempted Murder, a crime of the first degree; Armed Robbery, a crime of the first degree; Conspiracy, a crime of the second degree; Burglary, a crime of the second degree; Criminal Restraint, a crime of the third degree; Terroristic Threats, a crime of the third degree; Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, a crime of the second degree; and Theft, a crime of the third degree.
