Well folks, the unofficial end of summer is upon us. Even though fall doesn't officially start until September 22nd, after Labor Day the summer book seems to quickly close. However, for us South Jersey locals, there's still plenty of time to enjoy the beach now that most of our summer visitors have packed up and gone home!

Here are some ways to enjoy our beautiful beaches before the crisp, cool fall weather moves in.

    Running on the Beach

I'm so looking forward to running on the beach and not having to worry about stepping over or tripping on beach chairs, blankets, little kids building sand castles, and groups of people standing at the edge of the water!

    Walking the Dog

This is always so much fun and not the easiest thing to do when the beach is always crowded.

HINT: There are dog friendly beaches in Brigantine, Stone Harbor, Ocean City, Wildwood, and Somers Point!

    Bonfires

This is an awesome thing to do especially on a chilly night in September or early October. North Wildwood will have a Bonfire on the Beach night on October 17th.

Island Beach in Seaside allows small fire pits. Check out the rules here.

Relax and Enjoy the Beachy Atmosphere

The next few weekends will still feel like summer on the beach but without the crowds. Some beach towns will still have lifeguards on a limited basis. Remember, never swim on a unprotected beach even thought the water will still be warm. This is a sure way to possibly put yourself in a dangerous situation.
