The 58th annual Night in Venice Parade, the kind of party which could only happen in Ocean City, is Saturday, July 28th.  Interpretation... of this year's theme, "Do you remember when..." will be left open to the participants imagination.  The boat parade and house party, one of the Ocean City's fondest traditions, has a couple of new wrinkles this year.  For the first time, Night in Venice will be held with the new Route 52 causeway bridge, which won't require opening the drawbridge to allow the boats to pass.

The Night in Venice committee will also be posting winners names online on Saturday night, so boats and  bay front homes competing for prizes for best decorations won't have to wait until Sunday to find out if they have won!

The boat parade begins at 6p.m. at the Longport Bridge and winds its way through the Ocean City lagoon. There were 50 boats and more than 150 homes registered as of this writing.  To register, or for more information, call 609-525-9300 or go to www.ocnj.us

Grandstand seating is free but limited.  Tickets to view the boat parade from the Bayside Center, at 5th & Bay Avenue,  are available on a first-come, first served basis for $7 for adults, $3 for kids ages 12 & under.  Shuttle service will be available until midnight.
