When driving on Zion Road in Egg Harbor Township, I have always been curious about the large, ( 2-or 3-story tall) character wearing the dreadlocks.

After mentioning it on the Lite Rock Morning Show, listeners called to tell me that the Little Dairy Bar ice cream place next door put it up in the 1980's to publicize their business and that it is supposed to be one of the California Raisins.

Well, I don't know much about the character on Zion Road, but I do remember the California Raisins and none of them had dreadlocks.

So, if you were living in South Jersey during this time, tell me what you remember or know about the giant raisin with the dreads on Zion Road in EHT and what it had to do with selling ice cream.  It's the little things that drive me crazy....

Why we are at it, here's the California Raisin's commercial with Marvin Gaye's song "Heard It Through the Grapevine", which makes sense, because it was about RAISINS, not ice cream....
