Cops have caught-up with a man who they say was involved in a shooting in Atlantic City back in December.

24-year-old Anthony Hare-Jones of Pleasantville is currently being held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose charges.

An ACPD detective witnessed Hare-Jones enter a vehicle at Chelsea and Pacific Avenues in Atlantic City Wednesday. Following a traffic stop, he was taken into custody without incident.

Authorities say on the morning of December 14th, officers responded to Michigan and Caspian Avenues for a ShotSpotter alert. Arriving officers located a gunshot victim, a 24-year-old man from Atlantic City. Officers were provided with a description of a vehicle that fled the scene. An off-duty ACPD officer was driving on the Atlantic City Expressway when a vehicle matching that description passed him at a high rate of speed. Officer Perez was able to get the vehicle’s license plate, which aided in the investigation and identification of Hare-Jones.
