I'm still amazed by how many people still refuse to wear a seat belt. Just by buckling up you reduce the risk of death by 45% and serious injury by 50%. Those odd are good enough for me to buckle up every time I get into my car.

Now, police all over the Garden State and South Jersey will be on the hunt for those who don't buckle up as they get ready to strictly enforce their "Click It or Ticket" safety campaign. The campaign will kick off later this month, just in time for Memorial Day weekend.

According to NJ.com, over 128 law enforcement agencies will revive grants totaling over $548,000 to help pay for overtime and to look for those who still refuse to wear a seat belt.

The police departments in South Jersey who will play a major role in "Click It or Ticket" include:

Atlantic County:

  • Atlantic City
  • Egg Harbor Township
  • Galloway
  • Hammilton
  • Mullica

Cape May County:

  • North Wildwood
  • Wildwood

The Click It or Ticket 2018 Campaign was responsible for close to 20,000 citations and over 150 summonses handed out to those who refused to buckle up.

It's always a good idea to buckle up before you even start your car up!
