Well, that's exactly what happened to a family from Cumberland County recently. NJ.com reports that a family from Vineland had quite a shock after returning home from a trip to Costa Rica.

The family was unpacking when the scorpion was discovered in a golf bag. Upon finding the creature, family called Animal Control who then somehow involved the Division of Fish and Wildlife which came to rid the family of their unwanted stowaway.

Luckily, it's not common to die from scorpion venom, but it's still terrifying to think about what could have happened, especially in a home with children.

No word yet on where the scorpion will call its new home.
