Every Thursday morning at 7:15am on the Lite Rock Morning Show, the Humane Society of Ocean City brings in the new Lite Rock Pet of the Week.

If you are thinking about adding a pet to your family, please consider adopting from the Humane Society of Ocean City, a no-kill shelter recognized as one of the nation’s top ten animal shelters.

All of the animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped before adoption. All animals also receive an Alumni Card which entitles them to a 10% lifetime discount for veterinary services at the Humane Society of Ocean City clinic.

This week we met Olive the dog...

Here is some information on Olive from the Humane Society of Ocean City:

"Olive is a sweet little cutie searching for her forever home. She is an island girl, hailing from exotic St. Croix; as such she loves the warm weather and snoozing in the sun! Olive is a Rat Terrier and Whippet mix, who is 10 yrs old.

She is 30 lbs, with a beautiful brown/black brindle coat, and small ears- one of which is up and the other commonly droops-so cute! She has big brown eyes and is just a little white in the snoot!

Olive loves to be out in the yard exploring and playing. Squeaky toys and AirDog are her favorite! She loves to play fetch and chase things! Olive is attentive, intelligent, and gentle. She learns routines very quickly and excels at obedience training. She also enjoys brisk walks and making her rounds of all her favorite haunts. And not surprisingly--Olive loves nom-noms!

Olive is looking for a home with moderate-to-low activity, preferably w/ some retired folks who have some time and energy to spend with Olive. She is a wonderful companion pooch! Olive has never met a person she didn't like, though does need to be the only pet, as she has a very strong prey drive (why she likes to chase things), and can be territorial with other dogs.

Please come and visit Olive today, she is a sweet-heart of a doggie who loves people so much! All she wants is a person or two to call her own, who can spend some years with a loving and companion. Olive has spent most of her life in a shelter, always being passed over for younger and/or more animal-friendly dogs. Please come and visit Olive today!"
