A popular retail phenomenon, the pop-up shop, is being added to to the new Playground shopping and entertainment complex on the Atlantic City Boardwalk.

Bart Blatstein, the developer of the Playground plans to offer ten to 15 spaces for aspiring small business owners with a focus on arts and retail to open a pop-up shop, according to The Press of Atlantic City.

“Sometimes the creative types aren’t sure if their concept works or if they’re accepted. And this gives them an opportunity to test the market and will show them what they need to change about their concept or if their concept is great or not,” said Brandon Dixon, chief operating officer of Tower Investments, the owner of the Playground.
