Six Flags has announced that in order to control the crowds in the parks, guests will have to make an advanced reservation in order to visit.

You can't do it yet for Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, as there is no reopen date. But once the plans are in place to reopen, an online reservation system is expected to be made available, according to multiple sources such as Attractions Magazine.

How many times have you sat on your couch while social distancing at home these days and daydreamed about going to Six Flags Great Adventure? Yeah, me too.  I envision screaming with delight on the rides and having fun with my friends again. Ahhh, to dream. Whenever Six Flags decides it is finally safe to reopen, you will notice a big change, according to Attractions Magazine.

The plans are in place for the company's park's which are expected to be among the first to re-open in May (in states where the shelter in place orders have been lifted), Newsweek and Fox News report. Those parks are in Texas, Georgia, Missouri, Oklahoma, plus a park in Mexico City.

In those parks, the new rule for all guests (from one day visitors to season pass holders) will be put in place to ensure there is only the allowed number of guests in the parks at one time. No word on what that magic number will be.

Each park will have to follow their own state's social distancing guidelines.

As a result, we can expect that a similar policy will be put into place when Six Flags Great Adventure is finally able to re-open. We've reached out to park officials for comment.

A statement on the company website says "Six Flags Great Adventure is temporarily closed. Following local and regional COVID-19 health directives, we will open as soon as it is safe to do so. While there have been no reported cases of COVID-19 at the properties, the safety of our guests, team members, and animals is always our highest priority. We will continue to closely monitor this evolving situation, and follow the most current guidance from federal, state, and local officials."
