The more snow days used in the winter, the longer kids have to go to school in the summer. Many families plan out vacation right after school gets out for the summer, so a good amount of kids don't even go to school on the days added for snow days. One school district in South Carolina is doing away with snow days completely.

Anderson School District 5, in South Carolina, will be removing snow days during the upcoming school year. Rather than tacking on days at the end of the year, students will have work to do at home during the "snow day." According to Fox 5, teachers will have assignments that students can do at home on their computers. Teachers will be able to monitor their work online.

Students will have 5 days to complete the assignments so if there is a power outage, they will have time to do the work. The district also stated that students do not need internet access for the assignments.
