Sad news to report.. The search for 10 year old Khitan Devine of Philadelphia who went missing Sunday night in one of the worse spots on the Atlantic City Beach is now being called a recovery.

State police boats and a Atlantic City Fire Department wave runner have been patrolling the water on the MLK beach in Atlantic City. The search has now been temporarily halted.

According to 6abc.com, the young swimmer from Philadelphia was last seen in the surf between Kentucky Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard in Atlantic City.  Rescuers were able to pull the boy’s stepmother and stepsister to safety; his father was unable to reach him as the tides pulled him away.  The family was swimming at approximately 7 p.m.–one hour past lifeguard duty.

The Press of Atlantic City and 6abc.com are following all the developments of this tragic accident. We encourage you to check back for the very latest.
