Saturday’s Walk for the Wounded Helps Those Injured Serving America

Lite Rock is pleased to be a part of the  fourth annual Walk for the Wounded, a three-mile walk aimed at drawing attention to the plight of returning soldiers and their families this Saturday, Sept. 29 beginning  at the Ocean City Music Pier of the Ocean City Boardwalk.  Sponsored by Ocean City Home Bank, the walk... benefits Operation First Response, a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance to wounded soldiers and their families.

Registration for the Walk for the Wounded begins at 8:30am at the Ocean City Music Pier.  Opening ceremonies take place at 9:30am, and the 3-mile walk starts at 10am.

The goal of the day is two-fold:  1) to draw attention to the plight of tens of thousands of returning soldiers who are wounded, and whose families are facing significant financial and emotional challenges as their loved one recovers and 2) to raise funds to help meet the critical needs of these families, many of whom are crisis right now – today, in hometowns all across the country.
