Galloway Township Police are asking for your help finding the driver of a stolen mini-van who was pulled over by police Sunday night, then sped away from an officer before crashing the vehicle and fleeing on foot.  According to the Press of Atlantic City, police pulled over a Chrysler Town and Country minivan at 8:47pm Sunday at Rt. 9 and Seaview Ridge Drive, but when the officer approached the vehicle, the driver sped away.

Police say the driver then crashed the mini-van into a tree on Jimmy Leeds Road at New Leaf Court and ran off into the woods.

Police units from Galloway Township, Stockton University and a state police helicopter conducted a search of the area, but the suspect was not found.

The car had been stolen from a home in Smithville a short time before being stopped by police. No description of the driver was given.
