Every Thursday morning at 7:15am on the Lite Rock Morning Show, the Humane Society of Ocean City brings in the new Lite Rock Pet of the Week.

If you are thinking about adding a pet to your family, please consider adopting from the Humane Society of Ocean City, a no-kill shelter recognized as one of the nation’s top ten animal shelters.

All of the animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped before adoption. All animals also receive an Alumni Card which entitles them to a 10% lifetime discount for veterinary services at the Humane Society of Ocean City clinic.

This week we met “Phoebe” the cat.

Here is some information on Phoebe from the Humane Society of Ocean City:

“Phoebe is a one-year-old sweet petite female domestic short-haired tuxedo cat. While looking like a kitten herself, Phoebe was rescued off the streets along with four week-old baby kittens. Phoebe was fortunate enough to have been placed into a loving foster home until her kittens were old enough to receive first vaccinations.

The HSOC had already committed to the 4 babies when they were ready but what to do with our little mama Phoebe?

Everyone wants kittens but doesn't Phoebe deserve her second chance at finding her forever home too? After all, she had been such a good mom. At present, all of her babies have been adopted. Phoebe continues to wait for her chance. She is a vocal, playful affectionate cat. She has met dogs before but not on a regular basis so she may be okay with a canine friend. She also do fine with kids over the age of 10.

Although she would prefer to be the queen of her castle, we believe she would deal with other cats well. Would Phoebe be a fit in your house? Come visit and see for yourself!”
