A 38-year-old Philadelphia man has been charged with murdering his younger brother earlier this week in an Atlantic City casino hotel room, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutors Office.

Authorities say around 3:00 Tuesday afternoon, security at Harrah's was alerted to a medical emergency in a room on the 11th floor of their hotel. The victim, identified as 32-year-old Joseph Villante, of Philadelphia, was taken to ARMC-City where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy was completed by the Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office and the cause of death was ruled to be multiple injuries, including blunt force injuries of the head. The manner of death was determined to be homicide.

Following an investigation, Joseph Villante’s brother, John A. Villante, was arrested on Thursday in Philadelphia without incident.

John Villante is lodged in the Philadelphia Prison system pending extradition proceedings.
