The company plans to close 100 stores as the focus shifts from retail operations according to NJ.com. The latest store in New Jersey to close for retail sales is the Pep Boys location on Rt. 46 in Parsippany. According to the website Patch auto repairs and tire sales and maintenance will still continue.

The Philadelphia Enquirer reported earlier this month that two South Jersey locations will close this summer including Cherry Hill and Marlton. The Turnersville location is also on the list for possible closing. In keeping with the company's new focus and philosophy, auto repairs and tire sales would continue. There is no specific date as to when these stores will be closing.

Two South Jersey locations have already closed this year including Audubon and Stratford. Billionaire Carl Ichan acquired Pep Boys in 2015 for $1 billion dollars. The business has been suffering from poor and declining sales.

There are 48 Pep Boys locations in New Jersey. South Jersey locations include Absecon, Egg Harbor Township, Glassboro, Turnersville, Cinnaminson, Vineland, Cherry Hill, Blackwood, and Berlin.
