Every Thursday morning at 7:10am on the Lite Rock Morning Show, the Humane Society of Ocean City introduces the new Lite Rock Pet of the Week.

If you are thinking about adding a pet to your family, please consider adopting from the Humane Society of Ocean City, a no-kill shelter recognized as one of the nation’s top ten animal shelters.

This week we met Penny the dog...

Here's some information on Penny from the Humane Society of Ocean City...

"Penny was adopted from us about 6 months ago and it just wasn’t working out. She is now back with us looking for her new forever home.

She is just over a year old. Penny is a high energy girl that would love a hiking partner. She also enjoys swimming and chasing frisbees. Penny does have some fear issues and take a while and some work to warm up to men.

Penny also has some herding dog in her so she does like to nip ankles if she thinks she can get away with it. We are looking for a quiet but active home for her without children.

She is fine with other dogs but does play hard so the other dog needs to be able to keep up with her. No cats for this girl as they are very fun to chase."
