There's a special message behind a reading walk through the park with Ocean City Free Public Library.

Kindness is something we could all use a little more of, whether we're giving it or receiving it, especially as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to pose challenges for us all.

Kindness is learned at an early age, and Ocean City Free Public Library offers parents a lovely way to introduce their kids to the attribute using the children's book 'Be Kind', written by Pat Zietlow Miller and illustrated by Jen Hill.

Through April 10th, the library invites families on the 'Be Kind' Storywalk® at Ocean City's Lake Memorial Park. The pages of the 'Be Kind' have been transformed into signs at the park, where you and your little ones can read while you walk wherever you spot 'kindness hearts' throughout the park.

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT, and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library, according to oceancitylibrary.org. It's accessible all day. You can learn more on the events page of the official Ocean City Free Public Library website.

*StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.

When teaching your kids to be kind to other humans, I hope your experience with them at Lake Memorial Park inspires you to teach them to be kind to the environment and the insects and animals we share it with. XOXO.
