You may want to take a close look at that $20 bill you get as change on the Ocean City Boardwalk.

Ocean City Police are warning merchants about three reports of counterfeit money being passed to shops on the Boardwalk in the last month.

According to the Press of Atlantic City, police say most of the fake bills have been $20 bills.

"Most of the money is being discovered by local banks after the businesses have made their daily deposits. Four counterfeit twenty-dollar bills from the overnight deposits were discovered on July 14 by the bank,” police reported in a recent press release. “The bank believes the money came from boardwalk businesses."

Police say it's not that unusual to see counterfeit money being passed during the busy tourist season at the Shore, so be advised.
