The beaches and boardwalks up and down the Jersey Shore were packed on Labor Day Weekend and for most of the summer.

I love going to the beach and boardwalk in September after the madness of the summer season officially winds down. This September, larger than normal crowds can be expected at the Jersey Shore especially if the weather stays sunny and hot.

Swimming at unguarded beaches during the month of September can also become a serious problem. For your own safety, do not swim at any unguarded beaches.

Many towns will keep the presence of lifeguards on the beach during September including Ocean City and Ventnor.

According to the Press of Atlantic City the Ocean City Beach Patrol will guard certain beaches from 10 AM to 5 PM on weekdays and 10 to 5:30 PM on weekends.

The Ocean City Beaches include:

  • 9th Street (Until 9/27)
  • 10th Street (Until 9/27)
  • 11th Street (Until 9/20)
  • 12th Street (Until 9/27)
  • 34th Street (Until 9/27)
  • 58th Street (Until 9/29)

The Ventnor City Beach Patrol will be active from 10 Am to 6 PM every day through September 20th and Septemer 26th and 27th.

 The Ventnor City Beaches include:

  • Dorset Avenue
  • Lafayette Avenue
  • New Haven Avenue
  • Suffolk Avenue

For your safety please remember to keep 6 feet apart and wear your mask while walking on the beach, the boardwalk, going to the bathroom and buying food.

Here's to a safe rest of the summer and start of the fall season!
