Residents of North Wildwood now have a quicker, more efficient way to find out about approaching severe weather and flooding.

The city has implemented the CodeRED Weather Warning System to provide updates by phone call, text message or email to those who sign up for the program, according to a statement from the city's Office of Emergency Management.

Right now with the Code Red system, you can receive tornadoes, severe thunderstorm and flash flood warnings on your phone, while text and Email messages can receive tornadoes, severe thunderstorm, flash flood, winter storm and tsunami information.

The system will contact you only for Weather Warnings, which means that severe weather is imminent, as opposed to Weather Watches, which means that the conditions are favorable for severe weather.

North Wildwood residents sign up here now by clicking on the CodeRED link.
