Should students receive minimal credit when an assignment was not even turned in?

That is not what Florida Teacher, Diane Tirado, thinks and she recently lost her job for it.

"I'm so upset because we have a nation of kids that are expecting to get paid and live their life just for showing up and it's not real," Tirado said.

And she was not afraid to hide that very same message in the note she left for her students bidding them a farewell.

"Bye Kids, Mrs. Tirado loves you and wishes you the best in life! I have been fired for refusing to give you a 50% for not handing anything in. Mrs. Tirado"

On one hand, Ms. Tirado has a point because this is just another form of sugar coating reality which will ultimately make this generation that much more unprepared for adulthood and the responsibilities that come along with it.

And on the other, could this new policy allow kids to learn their lesson at a young age without enduring the harsh consequences because a 50% is still a failing grade?

So, where do you stand?
