No Visitors at Cape Regional Medical Center Due to Covid Increase

As of Wed., Nov 18, Cape Regional Medical Center in Cape May Court House has implemented a no visitor policy because of the increase in the Covid-19 positivity rate. The hospital posted a message on Facebook Tuesday announcing the change in policy, which they say is necessary to protect patients and staff.

There are several exceptions to the no-visiting policy, including allowing one visitor for a patient under the age of 18, for a hospice or completely dependant patient and a birthing partner for a woman in labor.

The County of Cape May Department of Health is reporting 42 new positive cases among County residents, as of Tuesday, Nov 17, with 2186 total positive cases including 99 deaths.

Cape Regional Medical Center isn't the first South Jersey hospital in Cape May or Atlantic county to halt its visitor policy this fall. Shore Medical Center in Somers Point implemented a similar policy on Oct 14 citing an uptick in Covid-19 cases and extreme caution.

At AtlantiCare's two campuses, in Pomona and Atlantic City, one visitor is allowed for each patient regardless of the patient's circumstances.
