NJ cops search for man who crept into college dorms while students slept

EWING — Campus police at The College of New Jersey are looking for a man they say went into at least three dorm rooms while student residents were inside sleeping.

In at least one case, the creep touched a sleeping student.

The man was able to enter the  Cromwell dorm building without swiping a card on Sept. 10 and Oct. 19, and the New Residence Hall on Oct. 21, according to college spokesman David Muha.

Muha said that police presence on campus has increased after the incidents.

Nobody was injured and there were no reports of any thefts.

“Security is stationed at the entrances of every residence hall through 2:00 a.m. Swipe access is limited to residents of the building. All guests are required to sign in and be accompanied by a resident.”

Students have also been warned about "tailgating" — allowing someone following behind them to get into a building

Muha said the white male stands about 5-foot-9 with a medium build, short dark hair and a scruffy beard. Photos show him wearing khakis, a green T-shirt and a baseball cap.

Two similar incidents at nearby Rider University in West Village B last fall led to the arrest of a Hamilton man.

Rowan University in Glassboro  is investigating two reported incidents of sexual assault this fall on female students, including one last weekend at Holly Pointe Commons. According to 6 ABC Action News, a woman went to the room of a male student she met on an elevator and fell asleep. She awoke while being sexually assaulted.
