Are you surprised by this?

In a study of the fittest and fattest states in America, New Jersey ranks near the top. That's a GOOD thing. That means residents in the Garden State are more likely to be in shape than overweight.

A website called QuoteWizard analyzed the Body Mass Index of it's health insurance subscribers, as well as obesity data made available by Centers for Disease Control.

While West Virginia has the highest rate of obese adults, it wasn't ranked the fattest state. That unfortunate honor goes to Mississippi. Colorado has the lowest rate of obese adults, but still wasn't the fittest. That title goes to Hawaii.

Considering the amount of pork roll we consume in New Jersey, I'm actually surprised we're ranked inside the Top 5! As for Pennsylvania and Delaware, they fell right in the middle, at #26 and #22.

Here are the five fittest states, followed by the bottom five fattest. If you want to see more results from this study, click the purple button below.
