The community building campaign happens annually on the first Tuesday of August. This year will be quite different thanks to the lingering concerns of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Most towns will cancel and reschedule the community police awareness event for 2020 according to the Press of Atlantic City. The National Night Out organizers are strongly recommending rescheduling the event to the first Tuesday of October which is October 6th.

Longport was the latest South Jersey Town to cancel National Night Out for 2020. The event will now take place in August of 2021.

Lower Township and Middle Township have already rescheduled National Night Out to October 6th. Wildwood Crest also has cancelled the annual event and is looking forward to National Night Out on August 3rd, 2021. There is no word if the event will be reschedule to October 6th in Wildwood Crest.

Gloucester Township has also cancelled their National Night Out and will reschedule it in 2021 as reported by the website Patch.

This event was always so much fun to attend. I love watching displays of emergency vehicles, SWAT demonstrations and so much more. Check back for updates on National Night Out 2020
