Ventnor Police continue to investigate a stabbing death that took place today on the 300 block of North Wissahickon Avenue in the city.

According to a statement from the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office, Police responded to a call today at about noon and found a man unresponsive outside a duplex.  The man was transported to AtlantiCare regional Medical Center where he was declared dead.   A woman who lives at the residence was taken in to custody by police.  The identities of the dead man and the suspect have not been released.

One possible cause of the stabbing is an argument between upstairs and downstairs neighbors in a duplex. During the argument, the woman allegedly stabbed the man once in the chest. However, The Press of Atlantic City reported earlier that the man who died was from Millville.

As of 5pm, Ventnor Police still had several houses in the area of the stabbing death cordoned off.

This is the 24th homicide in Atlantic County this year, but it is thought to have been the first in Ventnor in at least two years. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Major Crimes Unit continues to investigate.
