Every Thursday morning at 7:15am on the Lite Rock Morning Show, the Humane Society of Ocean City brings in the new Lite Rock Pet of the Week.

If you are thinking about adding a pet to your family, please consider adopting from the Humane Society of Ocean City, a no-kill shelter recognized as one of the nation’s top ten animal shelters. All of the animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped before adoption. All animals also receive an Alumni Card which entitles them to a 10% lifetime discount for veterinary services at the Humane Society of Ocean City clinic.
This week we met Minnie the dog....
Here is some information on Minnie from the Humane Society of Ocean City:
“ Minnie is a female Australian Cattle mix who is about 9-12 months old. She certainly is a little spark plug! Affectionate, intelligent, confident and independent-minded, Minnie is a quick study and eager for adventures and exercises! She is not a couch potato-type dog too many things to do and explore. She is an outgoing young lady who enjoys meeting people and insisting they play with her. Minnie is a delight to be around and always livens up a crowd with her youthful exuberance and innocent charm. She is physically affectionate!
Minnie displays many traits common to her obvious breed-sake and residual puppy behaviors. Minnie is a young, high-energy breed of dog. As such she will need lots of daily exercise, both physical and mental to allow her (and you) a stress-free life. She also has a lot of puppy-type behaviors such as jumping and mouthing and while not a large dog, can be rough when playing.
Minnie is looking for a home with active people who have time and energy to devote to Minnie; she is not suitable for the first time dog owner, driving around, workplace, or growing-up with the kids. She needs a high-fenced yard (6ft+) to run in and daily exercise routines, physical and mental. Kids should be older teens and up (15-16+) and other dogs are visit depending. She is an excellent companion dog for an adult single or couple who are active, energetic people."
