Cops in Millville say a 31-year-old man found himself in handcuffs after aiming a gun at three Millville Police officers.

According to NJ.com, the incident happened on Saturday when police pulled over 31-year-old Millville resident Dante Hayes during a traffic stop last Saturday. Hayes exited the vehicle and allegedly aimed his gun at three Millville Police officers. The officers had tactic vests on identifying themselves as police as well as their badges being visible.

Hayes tried to leave the scene off after refusing to drop the gun and was apprehended after being pursued by the officers. A 9 mm Glock-semi automatic was recovered by police after Hayes threw the gun in a nearby yard of a home.

The suspect remains in custody at the Cumberland County jail after being charged with weapons offenses including assault, hindering apprehension, tampering with evidence, and possession of a weapon by someone previously convicted of homicide.
