While times my be tough for many around South Jersey, one famous South Jersey athlete came up clutch for his hometown.

According to the Vineland Daily Journal, Millville's Mike Trout, an eight-time MLB All-Star, and three-time American League Most Valuable Player, took care of the entire staff at the ShopRite on North 2nd Street in Millville buying pizza and soda for every worker.

It was said he bought enough food and drinks to accommodate the stores 90 employees.

One of the workers, who declined to give his name, told the newspaper:

“(Trout’s) a good guy who cares about his community. Last week, his mom was in here, bought gift cards and was handing them out to customers in the parking lot.

"I don't know how many pizzas were delivered, but there were quite a few boxes and they were the party-sized ones. We were very surprised."

This isn't the first time that Trout has supported him hometown, earlier this month, Trout bought lunch for the entire staff at the Inspira medical center in Elmer, according to a tweet from his mother Debbie.
