Middle Township Police have good news for more than a dozen vehicle owners in the Rio Grande section of the township who had their cars burglarized last Saturday night. Police have arrested two teenage boys for the crimes.

According to a post on the Middle Township Police Facebook page, at about 1:15am Saturday, Jan 16, police responded to a reported burglary of a vehicle at a home on Secluded Lane in Rio Grande.

Police saw two teens suspiciously walking  away from the area and one of them began to run away.

An investigation revealed one of the suspects had entered an unlocked vehicle on the property which was captured on video. Both of the suspects were juveniles and the teen who fled was later located.

Police say there were 13 reports of vehicle burglaries on Secluded Lane and in the Shannon Oaks Development that night.

Both boys, ages 15 and 17, were arrested and charged with several counts of burglary, a third-degree crime and conspiracy to commit burglary, a third-degree crime.

The teens were released to their parents custody.
