The wind mills, which will be built between 15 and 26 miles offshore, will be clearly visible from some points along the coast.

Ørsted plans to hold the meeting online at 1pm, Tues Oct. 20; 6pm, Wed. Oct. 21 and 10am Sat. Oct. 24. Pre-register for these free sessions at OceanWind.com .

According to the Ocean City Patch, Ocean Wind will power more than 500,000 New Jersey homes. The project is scheduled to be operational by 2025.

Some of the things South Jersey residents may find concerning about Ocean Wind include the potential locations of electric cables, the eyesore factor of the wind turbines offshore and overall details about the project.

Kris Ohleth, a spokesman for Ørsted, told the Ocean City Patch that the company prefers to meet with the public before beginning a project in their community.

"While we always prefer to interact with interested members of the public face-to-face, we understand that is not practical at this time."

Ørsted has over 25 years of experience of offshore wind development, including building the worlds first offshore wind farm in Denmark and the first offshore wind farm in the U.S. in Rhode Island.

The company's website offers more information about the South Jersey wind farms, including photo representations of what the wind farms will look like from the beach in Atlantic City, Long Beach Island and Wildwood Crest. Notice how clearly you will be able to see the wind turbines from the beach in Atlantic City.
