Marlene’s Movie Madness : Ricki and The Flash [VIDEO]

Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images[/caption]"Ricki and The Flash" stars Meryl Streep as Ricki Rendazzo, the lead singer/guitarist of a rock 'n' roll band.  Definitely sounds like my kinda movie for sure.  And I was right!

Linda Brummel changes her name and her entire lifestyle to pursue her dreams of becoming a rock 'n' roll star.  She leaves her husband and kids and moves to Cali.  She finds a steady gig but is still struggling financially.  Then one day her ex-husband Pete (Kevin Kline) reaches out to Ricki to help their daughter Julie (Mamie Gummer) deal with problems on the home front.  Ricki discovers that a lot has changed since she left and more importantly, she needs to try to make amends with her family.  Not an easy task.

I must admit when I first saw the trailer, I was surprised to see Meryl Streep cast as Ricki.  I couldn't quite picture her playing a rock 'n' roll chick, but she pulls it off...and shows she can rock!  And her boyfriend Greg (Rick Springfield) is pretty darn adorable.  And BTW Mamie Gummer, who plays her daughter, is actually her daughter in real life.  Cool!

So if you want a mix of laughs, drama, and plenty of rock 'n' roll, then get your ticket now to see "Ricki and The Flash".  Rock on...  :)
