Marlene’s Healthy Habits: Why You Should Try Coconut Milk
My son asked me to buy him coconut milk, so I decided to try it myself. And I like it! Maybe you will too.
Be sure to get the unsweetened. It's mild in flavor, but it's got a nice hint of coconut. S-w-e-e-t...even without the added sugar. Trust me. You don't need it (the sugar, that is). And the brand I got is FREE! Well,it wasn't actually free, but it was free of dairy, soy, gluten, lactose, cholesterol, eggs, casein, and MSG. And it's full of vitamins and minerals, like calcium (50% more than dairy milk) , vitamin A, vitamin B-12 and vitamin D. Those are good letters to have in your body!
Watching calories?? No problem. Unsweetened coconut milk has only 45 calories per serving. So it's OK to be a little nuts for coconut milk. Next time you're in the grocery store, say Aloha to coconut milk. :)
