After a summer of car break-ins and thefts from unlocked cars in Downbeach communities, police have arrested a Margate man suspected in connection with the rash of car burglaries.

Jason Pinto, 43, was pulled over by Longport Police at 3:15am last Thursday after failing to stop for a stop sign.

According to the Press of Atlantic City, Longport Patrolman Frank Lupperger recognized Pinto's tattoos from surveillance videos of recent car burglaries.

Based on those surveillance videos, Longport Police have charged Pinto with six counts of burglary and six counts of theft in July. He was turned over to Margate police in connection with more vehicle burglaries.

I have several neighbors in Margate who will be very interested to find out if this is the guy who repeatedly stole cash and items from unlocked cars in our neighborhood this summer.
